Summary:
In 2023, Swire Water Holdings engaged WSC to support their Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory on multiple fronts for two organizations, WesTech Engineering and Purestream. WSC validated Swire’s existing Scope 1 & 2 GHG Inventory, created a Scope 3 Inventory that evaluated Swire’s supply chain GHG emissions, and supported the preparation of their materiality assessment for ESG reporting.
By engaging WSC in conducting a Scope 3 GHG Inventory, Swire now has a baseline that allows them to evaluate and disclose climate risks related to their supply chain, as well as evaluating costs and benefits associated with key decarbonization strategies.
This baseline, along with the materiality assessment that helps identify the unique ESG topics relevant to their organization, will be used to guide the target setting process to ensure successful progress over time.
These insights will assist Swire in making future policies decisions that will support the achievement of their climate-related targets.
