Facilitation of Tribal Environmental Leaders Summit

The Challenge

Warm Springs Consulting was hired to facilitate the three-day EPA Region 10, Tribal Environmental Leaders Summit (RTOC). With representatives from 250 native tribes and Alaskan Villages, the task was to make sure everyone’s voices were heard and that stories were fully shared to support the tribes in better tackling their greatest challenges. The challenge was to balance the emotions around the environmental destruction being experienced by the tribes while bringing forth clear pathways for action.

The Solution

WSC facilitated conversations to support the Tribes in navigating difficult conversations and ensured difficult conversations were acknowledged, on-time, and solutions-focused. WSC recorded the discussions and worked with visual note-takers in producing a post-summit report that clearly articulated tribal and village stories and triumphs.
